…is that I’m leaving Nottingham!

I don’t really know what else to say!  This decision was made months ago, but was kept under wraps for various reasons and could not happen sooner due to contractual obligations.  That obligation is soon to come to and end, however, and with my recent announcement at work that I have handed in my notice, the word is on the street.

I leave Nottingham at the end of June, after almost seven years of living there.  I’ve had my ups.  I’ve had my downs.  Who hasn’t!?!  But the time has come, or so I think, to move on from this place to somewhere new…but familiar.

I’m moving to Norwich.  I believe that I’m statistically less likely to get shot in this place, which is nice.  It’s also nice because my brother lives there, as do a number of friends that I’ve met through said brother.  Another advantage is that it’s closer to home, where my parents and sister still live.  On top of that there’s the slightly warmer/drier climate, friendlier people, and flatter land.

Even with all of these plus points to my soon-to-be new home, I’ll miss Nottingham.  It’s a massive part of my life and who I am.  I’ll especially miss my friends.  They mean a lot to me.  But friends are only a train journey away.

Anyway, I’m leaving.  And that’s that!
