This is one of many photos taken on Saturday night as me and my bro celebrated our 24th birthday in style!

It’s the best fun I’ve had in ages. Those guys and gals in Norwich sure do know how to show a chap a good time!

After a brief bomb scare and a delayed train journey by train down to Norwich, the day really got going when DJ and Postle picked me up at the train station with a big ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!’ balloon. From there it was off to City Road to drop off my stuff, open a few cards and presents and then onto Sainsbury’s for the BBQ shop!

BBQ getting toasty at the Postle’s place, more good friends arrived. Jon quit his job especially to make it to the party on time. Gem and Amy arrived soon after followed by Carol and Nay. More presents and cards and odd stumpy cats came and went.

I got a cool drum practice pad from Vicky, a t-shirt and Hitch DVD from the others and just a card of DJ. That’ll change soon enough.

The cake that Vicky made was booya tasty! Boo ya!

Then it was time…for the roller disco extravaganza! Along with gangs and gangs of 8-15 year olds, we hit Funky Monkeys for an evening of roller skating. It was very scary to begin with, but I soon put the kids in their place by elbowing one of them in the face! Don’t mess with the adults!

It was great. The shout out from the DJ was very memorable…

“We’ve got a couple of birthdays in the house tonight. First of all, give a big shout out to Claire who is celebrating her 15th birthday tomorrow. We also have some twins with us tonight, so big it up for DJ and JJ who are 24 years old today!”

Magic!

After roller skating we headed to The Alibi for music and drinks. At closing time it was a long walk back home via a childrens play area and a stop off at Postles for some more cake.
